Learn to sew with the Sew and Sew Group

Have you ever bought a sewing machine only for it to languish in the cupboard unused?  Or ever wanted to learn to sew but don’t know where to start?  If so, we have just the thing for you.

On 21st June the Stone and District U3A Sew and Sew group are holding a Learn to Sew day, from 10am until 12.30pm at Barlaston Methodist Church Hall

Bring your forgotten sewing machine along to our group and you will be shown how to use it and how to sew a pencil or make up case.  All the materials will be provided for you, you just need yourself and your machine.

You will be shown how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, sew basic seams and how to put a zip in.  The pencil or makeup case will be yours to take home with you.  If you don’t have a machine just yet, the group have a couple of machines that can be borrowed on the day.

If you would like to come along, please let the group leader know, Email Jenni or phone 07920 424779 so we can make sure there is space and a machine available if required.

The Sew and Sew group meets every other Friday at Barlaston Methodist Church Hall from 9.30 to 12.30.  We are essentially a machine sewing group, but sewing by hand is also welcome.  We work on our own projects and occasionally on group projects.  If you would like to join the group either as a learner or an experienced sewer, please Email Jenni or phone 07920 424779
