Andrew Van Burran will be talking about the History of the Circus and the founder Phillip Astley.

Andrew was born in Stoke on Trent into a theatrical family who toured the world as grand scale illusionists, later  launching his own career spending time both backstage and on stage in theater shows,circus, film and TV shows.

In 2014 Andrew along with Councilor Wensley Naylon Formed the Phillip Astley Steering Group .
Phillip, also a local man, was born in Newcastle under Lyme in 1742.
He was a military hero and original ringmaster of the modern circus which began in 1768 .
